Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
TipTap Games (tiptapgames.com) is operated by Quads Lab LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Information We Collect
- Account information — when you sign in via Discord or GitHub OAuth, we receive your username, avatar, and email address from that provider. We store this to identify your account.
- Gameplay data — scores, plays, likes, and saves associated with your account or anonymous session.
- Uploaded content — if you submit a game, we store the HTML file, title, description, thumbnail, and any metadata you provide.
- Usage data — standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We use this for security and performance monitoring only.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate and improve the service
- To attribute uploaded games and scores to creator accounts
- To enforce our Content Policy
- To respond to reports, appeals, and moderation actions
- To send account-related notifications (we do not send marketing emails)
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising
- We do not use tracking pixels, behavioral ad networks, or cross-site trackers
- We do not collect payment information directly — we do not currently charge for the service
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
- Discord OAuth — for sign-in. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord's own privacy policy.
- GitHub OAuth — for sign-in. Your use of GitHub is governed by GitHub's own privacy policy.
- Railway / Vercel — cloud infrastructure. Your data is stored on servers hosted in the United States.
Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, and no longer. We do not retain personal information indefinitely.
| What | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | While the account is active | To operate the account |
| Scores, likes and saves | While the account is active | Leaderboards and your library |
| Guest device identifier | 12 months from last use | To keep guest progress on one device |
| Individual play records | 30 days | Rolled up into anonymous daily totals each night, then deleted |
| Daily game statistics | Kept | Counts per game per day — no account, device or session identifier of any kind, so they are not personal data |
| Email delivery records | 12 months | Deliverability and unsubscribe handling |
| Moderation and safety records | While needed, then deleted | Legal obligations and repeat-infringer policy |
| Anyone below the minimum age | Nothing is retained | No identifier is issued or kept |
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below. Uploaded games that have been approved and made public may remain accessible after account deletion unless you request removal — see the Terms.
Children's Privacy
TipTap Games is a mixed-audience service. Games appeal across a wide range of ages and we recognise that children may be drawn to the site, but children are not our intended or primary audience and we do not direct the service to them.
Playing requires no account. The entire feed is open, and there is no age requirement to play a game.
Creating an account has a minimum age of 13 — 16 in the European Economic Area, where a higher age of digital consent applies under Article 8 of the GDPR. Before an account can be created we ask for your date of birth on a neutral screen. We use it once, to decide whether the minimum is met, and then discard it. We record only that the check was passed and which minimum applied. The date of birth itself is never stored.
If you tell us you are below the minimum age, we stop keeping anything about you. No account is created, and from that point your browser is given no lasting identifier: we delete the device identifier we had, stop issuing one, and store no scores, likes, saves or history against you. You can still play everything. Anonymous, aggregate records that a game was played — carrying no account, device or session identifier — may still be counted so creators can see how their games perform.
We never serve behavioural or targeted advertising, we never sell or share personal information, and we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own purposes. Games run in a sealed sandbox with no network access, so a game cannot collect anything about the person playing it.
Parents and guardians: if you believe a child has created an account or that we hold personal information about a child, email [email protected]. You may ask us to confirm what we hold, to delete it, and to stop any further collection. We act on these requests within 30 days and do not require you to create an account to make one. We will ask only for enough information to locate the account — typically the email address or profile link — and nothing more.
Your Rights
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and personal data
- Withdraw consent to data processing (which will require account deletion)
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
